Halloween..boohaha

It was a great night, we had about 70 kids....good to see them all coming back out again after years of only having a handful. I made the ice lanterns again with skulls, severed fingers, spiders, rats and all sorts of creepy crawlies....

The ice lanterns are always a big hit with the kids and the adults.

We carved 3 pumpkins this year but the pictures don't really do them justice, they were pretty nice if I do say so myself.

Here is Ryan in his true form.....furry!

Here is a look at the front of the house....Mr Stuffy under the garage door scared the pants of a few of the kids. Too bad I forgot to get a picture of him.

We had a little help from lulu the conure...she was trying to help carve the pumpkins, but all she really wanted to do was eat them...

She is a cute little bug though!

I finally got the Halloween picture framed, but I will have to take it apart again to try and get it in straighter.

The Halloween bowl, it was sure sad looking at the end of the night!
Here is the first picture of my halloween baltimore that I just finished putting the binding on Saturday night...not cutting it close or anything eh? This is a pattern by Pearl Pereira, it is brilliant but a lot of work, this is wool on cotton.

Until next Halloween.....BOO

Fabric painting

Just took an amazing class with Ana Buzzolino at 'Out of Hand', it was a great day, what a talented lady.  She has patience beyond words to put up with me, but she got me a long way out of my comfort zone...too bad I don't know how to spell...sheesh!

Vacation in Banff.....mmmmmm

The view from the Rundle Lounge at the Banff Springs Hotel, amazing!
Here I am back again, we went to Banff for 4 amazing days and 3 nights, this place is magical! Stopped in Canmore on the way out and took a peek in some of the shops, had lunch, wonderful corn chowder and looked for a Pig for Krysten....inside joke, then onto Banff.

My ever lovin Jim at the Gondola above Banff

We walked to the Rimrock hotel from the hot springs parking lot and we came across this little beauty, we got within about 5 meters of her...she just kept on eating, no fear.

It snowed the last night we were there and we still had flurries during the day friday.  On the way back up the mountain to get some pictures we met this guy.  He was huge, and didn't seem bothered by us stopping to take his picture at all.

These last two pictures are looking west from the Tunnel Mountain lookout back towards the Banff Springs Hotel....what a view!

This is looking East from the Tunnel Mountain lookout at the Hoodoos.

On the way home, just passing Canmore and the Three Sisters.  It was a great mini trip, very relaxing, days spent reading and stitching, with Jim sleeping....teehee!

If this is Fall, then when was Summer???

Well it sure looks and feels like fall out there.  The leaves are just about off the big side tree.  Too bad we haven't had summer yet.
Just hung the Happy Haunting quilt that I finished last year.

Here is a little something I am working on for this Halloween, Gourdies Gang, it will be too cute when completed.

Put out the table runner a couple of days ago also Oak leaves and Acorns

Here are a few more pics of the embellishment class last weekend and the Robin Run The Hedge work in progress.
This is the detail on one of the flowers from the piece below. Working with Cotton, Wool, Velvet and Silk dupioni.

This is the entire piece...approx pillow size

The start of Robin Run the Hedge by Sue Spargo, this is supposedly a rug....but no one is going to be walking on this baby when it's complete.

This is the detail of the middle, still working on it.

Amazing

In 5 minutes I have a blog...I am not a writer but maybe this will be my time.

I am a wife, a mother, a stitcher, a shooter, a daughter, a sister, a computer geek, a reader, a camper...the list goes on and on.  I am going to use this as my own little piece of the big cloud.  Hopefully iIwill post pictures of quilts and miscelaneous stitchery I attempt to complete.
